MEET DOREEN PATEL
My name is Doreen Patel, and I am the Chapter President of Inspired 2 Uplift at the University of Saskatchewan. I have been with the club since its very beginning, starting as Vice President and helping establish its presence at USask. Being part of this journey has been incredibly rewarding, and I am proud to contribute to a community built on inclusion, empathy, and understanding.
Inspired 2 Uplift USask has allowed me to channel my passion for advocacy and inclusion by helping bridge the gap between youth and youth with disabilities. Through awareness, education, and meaningful engagement, I believe our team is making a positive impact on campus, one that encourages empathy, empowerment, and community connection.
I am grateful to have the opportunity to lead a group of dedicated executives and volunteers who bring compassion and creativity to every initiative we take on. Their enthusiasm inspires me daily, and together, we’re continuing to push this mission forward.
Beyond the club, I volunteer as a Peer Mentor for USTEP, a program that supports students whose high school grades don’t fully reflect their potential, giving them the opportunity to succeed in university courses within a nurturing learning community. I am also in my fourth year of Biology Honours and pursuing a Biological Research Certificate, applying what I learn in my studies and volunteer experiences to mentor and engage with others in the community.
As Chapter President, my goal is to continue creating a space where students feel welcomed, empowered, and inspired, building a lasting legacy of inclusion and compassion where we all can uplift together! This is my about me for the website.
